On Thursday 24th September, colleagues from across Red Kite headed out into our communities for our first ever Big Door Knock.

The Big Door Knock was an opportunity for us to meet tenants face to face, listen to their experiences and hear directly about what's working well and where we can do better. As a tenant-led organisation, we believe it's important to be proactive in seeking the tenant voice, rather than waiting for people to come to us.

Throughout the day, colleagues visited nearly 3,700 homes and, together with our previous Little Door Knock, we've now reached more than 4,000 households. We spoke to people about their homes, neighbourhoods and experiences of our services, giving tenants the chance to share feedback, raise concerns, tell us about the things that matter most to them and hand-delivered a copy of our new printed newsletter - Red Kite Connect. Any homes we didn't get the chance to visit will receive a copy of the newsletter in the post.

The conversations provided valuable insight and highlighted areas where we can improve. Repairs and communication were the themes mentioned most often, and this feedback will help shape our priorities and future service improvements.

The Big Door Knock also helped us identify issues that needed immediate follow up. Hundreds of actions were raised during the day, with teams already working through them to make sure tenants receive the support they need.

We were also delighted by the number of tenants who said they would like to play a more active role in shaping our services by getting involved with our tenant engagement opportunities such as our Tenant Voice Panel.

Thank you to everyone who took time to speak with us!
