Our maintenance programme
We carry out regular servicing and safety checks on all lifts. This helps make sure they are safe to use and working properly.
- We arrange routine inspections and servicing
- We fix faults as quickly as possible
- We carry out emergency repairs when needed.
If your lift needs a repair, please contact us to report it as soon as you can.
Lifts inside your home
If you have a lift in your home, it’s important that you use it safely and look after it.
You should:
- use the lift as intended – don’t overload it
- keep the lift and surrounding area clear
- not try to fix the lift yourself
- tell us straight away if something isn’t working properly
- follow any safety instructions provided with your lift
- make sure children use the lift safely and are supervised where needed
- never force doors open or tamper with controls.
Passenger lifts in blocks
Passenger lifts are shared and used by tenants and their visitors.
- Please be considerate of others using the lift
- Do not overload the lift
- Report any problems or damage to us
- Do not use lifts in an emergency, such as a fire - follow safety signs in the building
- If a lift breaks down while you are inside, use the alarm button and wait for help.
Reporting a problem
If you notice a fault, damage or anything unusual with a lift, please contact us as soon as possible so we can put it right.
For more information, please see our Lift Safety Policy.
Our contractors
Jackson Lift Group and Allianz are the two main contractors we use for lift maintenance works. If you are unsure whether someone carrying out work on your lift is a Red Kite contractor you should always ask to see their ID - our staff and contractors are all prepared for you to ask this question.
