Fire risk assessment of your home

We've reviewed the way that we carry out our fire risk assessments, and have now included additional areas to be inspected. These inspections are required for all homes located within a block, including sheltered schemes.

What does this mean?

The contractor will be required to access your home. They'll assess its compartmentalisation - the ability to stop a fire from spreading throughout the block. These inspections will also include our leaseholders, to ensure we have a full understanding of the block.

How you can help

You can help us by allowing our contractor access to your home to carry out these inspections. We'll let you know when the contractor will be coming, to ensure that you're in.

During the inspection, our contractor will be in company-branded clothing. The logo will match that on the letter you'll receive. The inspection of your home should take no more than 30 minutes. It will involve inspecting each room and loft space, and then creating a floor plan.

Notifying you of the outcome

You'll be notified of any risks within your home, and recommendations to reduce or remove these risks.

If you have any questions relating to these inspections, please email compliance@redkitehousing.org.uk.
