About the role
We are looking for two Technical Officers who will work with the Repairs Manager to set key performance targets and milestones for allocated projects, and monitor agreed deliverables to achieve expected outputs.
The Technical Officers will also manage day-to-day work or minor project work to minimise exposure of both financial and health and safety-related risks; and take part in routines during office hours and from time to time outside normal office hours to provide an excellent responsive repair service.
About you
You will provide technical advice and support to colleagues, staff, and other stakeholders, and manage specific projects allocated by either mobile technology or manual allocation.
You will oversee the quality of work of contractors, making sure we comply with all relevant documentation, standards, good practice and guidance. You will also reconcile and settle final accounts and valuations, paying responsive repair invoices, dealing with contractual disputes, extensions of time and variations, and issuing relevant certification.
If you are interested in the permanent Technical Officer post, please take a look through the job description and if you're as excited about these fantastic opportunities as we are, please get in touch and send an application form to recruitment@redkitehousing.org.uk.
35-hour week pilot
Since June 2024 we have been piloting a change to our normal full-time, 37-hour 5-day week. Over 12 months we are trialling a shorter 35-hour week (for the same pay as before) where staff work a full day Monday to Thursday and finish the working week at 1pm every Friday. It’s just a pilot at this stage while we evaluate its impact on our staff, our tenants, and the service we provide, but if successful we will consider a permanent move to this way of working in 2025.
