  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Salary: £64,547 per annum
  • Interview Date: TBC
  • Closing Date: Sunday 17 November 2024

Please note: We occasionally close vacancies early in the event we receive a high number of applications, so we advise you to submit an application as early as possible.

About the role

You will be supporting the management of a team of Repairs Specialists in the delivery of various repairs and minor planned and cyclical work programmes and minor improvement projects including empty homes refurbishment, to protect or improve the assets of the organisation. You will also be working closely with tenants and Red Kite senior managers to deliver ‘excellent’ cost effective building maintenance and improvement services.

With this in mind, we are looking for a confident, organised, and extremely proactive leader to join the team as a Repairs & Voids Manager. To be successful, you will need strong technical knowledge about construction and construction-related health and safety, and importantly, you will use your strong negotiating skills to deliver best value services and continuous improvement for our tenants, within budget and timescales. You should also have previous team management experience.

About you

We’re looking for a flexible, approachable and confident character with a clear grasp of the challenges facing housing associations, probably gained from experience within the social housing/servicing and maintenance sector.

If you are passionate and enthusiastic about delivering excellent customer service, are determined, and care about delivering the very best service possible, we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in the permanent Repairs & Voids Manager post, please take a look through the job description and if you're as excited about these fantastic opportunities as we are, please get in touch and send an application form to recruitment@redkitehousing.org.uk.

35-hour week pilot

Since June 2024 we have been piloting a change to our normal full-time, 37-hour 5-day week. Over 12 months we are trialling a shorter 35-hour week (for the same pay as before) where staff work a full day Monday to Thursday and finish the working week at 1pm every Friday. It’s just a pilot at this stage while we evaluate its impact on our staff, our tenants, and the service we provide, but if successful we will consider a permanent move to this way of working in 2025.
