Home Safety Specialist (Electrical)
- Job Reference: 791

- Salary: £58,194
- Interview Date: TBC
- Closing Date: Monday 6 January 2025
Above everything, the safety of people living in our homes is our absolute priority. With more than 6,000 homes and many more tenants, this role is all about keeping an unfaltering focus on compliance, so that we keep on the straight and narrow and protect our tenants at all times.
What we need you to do:
- Together with the Home Safety Manager, you’ll set key performance targets and milestones for projects and make sure we deliver on everything we promise
- Lead on the main compliance-related area in relation to electrical safety including general periodic and contract administration
- As required, contribute and support the Home Safety Specialist (Mechanical) in the management and delivery of compliance-related programmes in relation to gas safety inspections and servicing, monitoring and contract administration of our heating replacement programmes
- Support the wider Home Safety team in their delivery and management of fire safety, asbestos management, water hygiene, water treatment testing, and lift servicing
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical support to the wider Property and Development functions.
Where you have come from:
- A place where you managed compliance-related works with specific emphasis on electrical testing (and in particular domestic installations) and safety, working in a customer-focused organisation - maybe even a housing organisation or something similar
- A background of developing best value services and continuous improvement, in a true learning organisation
- Somewhere that you developed an understanding of construction-related health and safety.
Please note: We occasionally close vacancies early in the event we receive a high number of applications, so we advise you to submit an application as early as possible.
Location: Hybrid working - two days per week in the office in High Wycombe.

35-hour week pilot
Since June 2024 we have been piloting a change to our normal full-time, 37-hour 5-day week. Over 12 months we are trialing a shorter 35-hour week (for the same pay as before) where staff work a full day Monday to Thursday, and finish the working week at 1pm every Friday. It’s just a pilot at this stage while we evaluate its impact on our staff, our tenants, and the service we provide, but if successful we will consider a permanent move to this way of working in 2025.
