Through our Springboard fund, we invest in charities, groups and organisations that make a positive difference in our communities. At our latest funding panel, tenant volunteers and Red Kite colleagues awarded £25,000 to three organisations supporting local people.

Shopmobility High Wycombe received £7,000 to support its work helping people stay mobile and independent. The charity provides mobility equipment to people who need support getting around and has around 1,000 members. It also provides an important social space for people to meet and enjoy some company.

David from Shopmobility said:

“Shopmobility for us is not just a job, it's a passion. The people that we see and meet and the joy on their faces is why we do this.”

Follyfoot Healing with Horses was awarded £8,000. The therapeutic centre uses horses to support children, young people and adults, including people with additional needs and those taking part in wellbeing sessions. The funding will help improve its outdoor round pen with drainage and an all-weather surface so it can be used throughout the year.

Caudwell Youth received £10,000 towards its work mentoring vulnerable young people aged 11 to 24. Its intensive one-to-one mentoring programme helps young people build confidence, resilience and life skills, with support available for up to 18 months.

The panel also approved £2,000 for Wycombe Santa and support for our annual 12 Days of Kindness campaign, which will see £200 donated to a local good cause each day throughout December.

These latest awards mean that more than £78,000 has now been committed through Springboard this financial year, supporting a wide range of projects making a difference to people of all ages across our communities.
