Recently, our Community Specialists joined local councillors for a litter pick around the Gunthorpe Road estate in Marlow, helping to keep the neighbourhood clean, tidy and a great place to live.
The litter pick took place alongside a community skip, which was funded by our Environmental Improvement Group (EIG) following an application from Cllr Emma Hawkins.
Our EIG brings tenants together to help decide how funding can be used to improve local neighbourhoods and make a positive difference to our communities.
The skip gave residents the chance to get rid of unwanted household items free of charge, while also helping to reduce fly-tipping in the area.
Our community specialists spent the morning with Cllr Emma Hawkins and Cllr Jenny Simnett collecting litter from around the estate. Despite the wet weather, they helped make an immediate difference to the local area.
Cllr Emma Hawkins said:
“It was a successful project. Thank you for all your support and Red Kite’s support. Please pass on my thanks to the team.”
By working with tenants, councillors and our local communities, we can help look after our neighbourhoods and make them clean, welcoming places that people are proud to call home.
