With temperatures expected to remain exceptionally high over the coming days, it may be necessary to make some temporary changes at short notice to the way we deliver our repairs service to help keep our colleagues and contractors safe.
Some repair appointments may need to be rescheduled where the work involves particularly high-risk environments during extreme heat, such as working in loft spaces, on roofs, or in other areas where temperatures can become unsafe.
If your appointment is affected, we'll contact you directly to let you know and arrange an alternative date as soon as possible.
We're also prioritising support for our most vulnerable tenants during the hot weather to help ensure those most at risk receive the assistance they need.
We appreciate that changes to appointments can be frustrating, and we'd like to thank you for your understanding while we take these sensible precautions to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone involved.
Staying safe in the heat
Hot weather can affect anyone, but older people, young children and those with existing health conditions can be particularly vulnerable.
To help stay safe during periods of extreme heat:
- Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
- Wear a hat when outdoors and stay in the shade whenever possible
- Use a high-factor sunscreen (SPF30 or above) on exposed skin
- Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration
- If you're indoors, try to keep your home cool by closing curtains or blinds during the hottest parts of the day
- Open windows when it's cooler outside and ventilate your home where possible
- Avoid sitting in direct sunlight, especially behind glass
- Check in on family members, friends and neighbours who may need extra support.
If you need help or support during the hot weather, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we continue to deliver services safely during the heatwave.
