Community comes together at Shelley Road ‘Meet the Contractor’ event

News
8 June 2026

On Tuesday 2nd June, we joined our development contractors Alexander James Contracts (AJC) to welcome local residents, Marlow's Mayor Jenny Simnett, and Town Councillors to a Meet the Contractor event for our Shelley Road development.

The former garage site on Shelley Road in Marlow is being transformed into two new 2-bedroom affordable homes for rent, helping to provide much-needed housing for local people. The development will also deliver additional parking provision, including two dedicated spaces for each new home and six further spaces for visitors and local residents.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for residents to meet the AJC project team, ask questions, and share valuable feedback. Parking was one of the key topics discussed, and in response to the volume of comments received, AJC is exploring ways to deliver the new parking spaces earlier within the construction programme so that local residents can benefit from them sooner.

Residents also raised questions about delivery vehicles. The AJC representatives were able to reassure attendees that minimising disruption remains a priority throughout the project. Most deliveries will be accommodated within the secure site compound, with vehicles safely managed by designated banksmen. For any major activities, such as the delivery of the mainframe later this summer, residents will receive advance notification letters at least one week beforehand.

Representatives from Alexander James Contracts, including Construction Director Kevin, the Office Manager, the Project Manager, the Site Manager Altin and members of the wider project team, were on hand throughout the event to answer questions and discuss how residents' ideas and concerns can continue to shape the delivery of the scheme.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their views, and helped ensure this development delivers positive outcomes both for our future tenants and for the existing community.

For any questions and feedback throughout the project, residents can contact AJC's Site Manager Altin Ymeri on 07731 550397 or the AJC Residents Liaison Team:
