We recently welcomed colleagues, tenant volunteers and a local councillor to Foxes Piece in Marlow, where 12 new homes have been built to help meet local housing need.
During the visit, guests were able to look around and see how the site has been transformed from a former car park into new homes for local people, including six one bedroom and six two bedroom apartments, with a mix of social rent and shared ownership homes.
Built on land we already own, Foxes Piece makes good use of existing space while supporting our communities. Colleagues were on hand to answer questions and explain how the homes have been designed with safety in mind. The development also includes 45 parking spaces, with 27 for existing Foxes Piece residents and 18 for the new homes and their visitors, exceeding the council’s parking standards.
As a tenant led organisation, we involve tenants in the decisions that affect them. Members of our tenant Development Panel helped shape the look and feel of the homes, choosing things like kitchens, flooring and carpets so they feel like good places to live. To help people settle in from day one, each of the social rent homes will also include a carpet and a fridge freezer.
The social rent homes have been advertised through Bucks Home Choice, with local people shortlisted and the homes expected to be let soon. Shared ownership homes are being marketed through Keegan White Estate Agents on Rightmove for anyone who would like to find out more.
Foxes Piece is part of our commitment to build more affordable homes, including a target to deliver 500 new homes by 2030.
