A tenant who had been living with the effects of antisocial behaviour for several years has thanked us for the support they received in helping to resolve the issue.
The tenant had been experiencing ongoing problems for around three to four years before becoming a Red Kite tenant. Despite raising concerns with previous landlords, they felt their complaints had not been addressed and the situation continued to affect their day-to-day life.
After transferring to Red Kite, the tenant contacted our Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) team, who quickly got in touch to understand the issues and provide support.
For the tenant, the biggest difference was feeling listened to and knowing action was being taken. Working closely with the police and other partners, our team helped progress the case and take appropriate action following a number of serious incidents.
As the case developed, it was discovered that the neighbouring home had been abandoned. Following legal action, we successfully obtained possession of the property, enabling us to move forward with bringing the long-running issue to a close.
The people responsible are no longer living at the property, which is now being cleared and prepared for a new family.
The tenant said:
"A mighty thank you for every bit of help they've given me."
A member of our ASB team said:
"This was a real team effort. We worked closely with colleagues and partner organisations throughout the case, and it's great to see a positive outcome after such a long and difficult experience."
This case highlights the difference that can be made when tenants' concerns are taken seriously and organisations work together to create safer communities. We remain committed to supporting tenants affected by antisocial behaviour and taking action where needed.
