Red Kite tenant and Chair of our Resident Representative Team (RRT), Candida was recently nominated for a Women in Housing award - Board/committee member of the year.
The awards, organised by Inside Housing, were created to acknowledge leaders and innovators across the housing sector, celebrate women's achievements and share learnings from tenants and experts.
Candida's commitment to improving lives and her work with RRT at Red Kite is commendable. Her efforts ensure that our tenants' voices are heard, and their interests remain a priority for us throughout everything we do.
Last night, Candida made her way to Manchester Central, where Housing 2024 is being held, for the award ceremony and we’re delighted to share she won!
Speaking proudly about her win, Candida said:
“Being recognised for what I do is emotionally uplifting. To be amongst the winners feels exhilarating and empowering. The indescribable energy and joy I’m feeling reflects on the hard work that brought me to this moment.
“A big thank you to Red Kite Community Housing Board, Executives, staff and tenants for believing in me.
“I've never felt such a strong sense of accomplishment. To share celebratory moments with great leaders and housing professionals is surely a moment of validation and pride, where the efforts and dedication have paid off, filling me and every winner with confidence and a renewed sense of purpose."
Our Head of Projects, Aasia, who nominated Candida for this prestigious award said:
"It's great that Candida's hard work and dedication in supporting Red Kite was recognised last night at the Inside Housing Women in Housing Awards. She is a credit to all tenant volunteers who give up their time to help and support others- well done Candida"
Well done to Candida for this incredible achievement, we can’t wait to see what else the future holds for you.
