On Sunday 11th August a serious incident, where two people were stabbed, took place close to our sheltered scheme in Havenfield Road, High Wycombe.

To help reassure our tenants we have written to everyone offering our help and support. Our Sheltered Services Manager, and our Sheltered Services Specialist, have also visited the site this week to speak to tenants.

Everyone is shocked that an incident of this nature has taken place in our community as previously we have only been aware of low-level anti-social behaviour in the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Holly Stockwell said:

“I would like to reassure the public that at this stage of the investigation, we believe the victims and offender are known to one another, and there is no wider risk to the public."

Steven May, 45, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possessing an offensive weapon. He appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 14th August and has been remanded in custody.

Anyone with information that could help the police can call 101 or make a report online with the reference number 43240385152. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
