Our staff were treated to an array of mouth-watering goodies that have been on sale to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We had a coffee morning last Tuesday (17th October) with cakes, cookies, and even a crumble all baked or donated by colleagues. Everything remained on sale for the rest of the week and has so far helped raise more than £700.

Dan, our IT Service Delivery Lead, organised the event after receiving help from the charity in 2021 while he was being treated for tonsil cancer.

Dan said:

"I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in 2021, which resulted in radiotherapy and chemotherapy every day for six weeks; the treatment was physically and mentally exhausting. It was an awful time to be diagnosed with cancer during the Covid pandemic because any stays in hospital were alone with only one person allowed to visit for an hour a day. Macmillan were always there with advice, help and support, I even continue to receive psychological help and support now. So it's really nice to be able to give back to them after all the help and support I was given while I was unwell and going through the intense treatment."
