Last month, the Rebel Business School 10-day course, funded entirely by us, showed 58 budding entrepreneurs that anyone can start a business and make money doing what they love.

Rebel Business School break the mould with their approach to starting a business. Their mission is to make starting a business achievable for anyone and everyone, no matter what their starting point or background. This is the third year that Red Kite has sponsored this event, meaning that people attending the course don't pay a penny.

Over the 10 days, coursegoers were taught how to start a business for free, how to build a free website, how to find customers on social media, plus lots more.

When the course ended, a fantastic virtual graduation ceremony was held, featuring Mark Harris, aka the Enterprise Doctor, who offered 20 free one-to-one mentoring sessions to our graduates.

Sophie Phillips, our Head of Resident and Community Engagement, gave a presentation on Red Kite funding opportunities, and we had a live musical performance by Ana Palacios. This year’s group was extremely engaging and found this course very useful, feedback included:

“Thank you for funding this! It's amazing - this is my second time doing Rebel and I learned even more this time around. It's so amazing, please keep funding for more people to have this same great opportunity.”

“I could not thank you all enough for this opportunity: it has made a difference to my life. Not only will I improve my business but hopefully I will achieve more independence to carry out social projects in this area. All the best that I could say: the lessons were delivered with clarity, confidence, enthusiasm and very attuned to the attendees' experience/inexperience and needs.”
