This week we delivered our 500th food parcel to our residents.

Red Kite 500 Food Parcels

The food parcel scheme was set up at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic to help vulnerable residents affected by the crisis.

Food was donated by FareShare, a charitable food redistributor that takes good quality surplus food from across the food industry and shares it with almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups.

Our staff volunteers packaged the food into parcels and then delivered them to residents, many of whom were shielding and couldn’t get to the shops.

The scheme, which came to an end on Thursday 25th June, has helped feed hundreds of residents in the High Wycombe area. Enough food was donated for more than 3,600 meals!

Bazgha Sultana, Engagement & Events Manager, who managed the project, said: “It has been an amazing three months where everyone has pulled together to help. I feel so proud to be part of this community.”

Residents who need help are urged to contact our Financial Wellbeing team. You can find out more about the help available here.
