June is Pride Month – a time to recognise and support lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and other LGBTQ+ people.

At Red Kite, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and at home, no matter who they are or who they love. That includes our LGBTQ+ tenants and their families.

This is the first year we’re marking Pride, and for us it’s about something simple but important: making it clear that discrimination and harassment are not OK, and that everyone matters.

For some people, being LGBTQ+ can increase the risk of harassment, hate incidents or feeling unsafe at home. As your landlord, we take this seriously.

We want you to know:

  • We will not tolerate hate or harassment
  • We will listen and act if you raise concerns
  • Support is available if you need it.

If you ever feel unsafe, or experience abuse or harassment because of who you are, please tell us. We can help and will treat your concerns with care and respect.

Pride Month is also a reminder that our homes and neighbourhoods are made up of people from many different backgrounds. Respecting each other helps our communities to be stronger and safer for everyone.

“Feeling safe at home should never depend on who you are or who you are in a relationship with. If any of our tenants are facing harassment or feel unsafe, we encourage them to speak to us so we can support them.”
Paul Sibley, Team Leader - Antisocial Behaviour Team
