Summary:
The panel agreed several funding decisions:
High Wycombe Child Contact Centre was approved for £11,000 in total, made up of £6,000 towards rent and an additional £5,000 unrestricted funding to support running costs, volunteer training, equipment replacement and organisational resilience.
Wycombe Youth Action was approved for £7,500 for its knife crime awareness and prevention project. The panel felt the project was clear, relevant and likely to benefit young people in the local community, including those in Red Kite households, particularly through early intervention, mentoring, school engagement and speakers with lived experience.
St Andrew’s Community Hub was also approved for £7,500, recognising the value of its low-cost counselling, mental health support, family activities and wider community outreach, with the award rounded up to reflect inflation and increased running costs.
The Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Service (RSASS) application was not approved in its original form because the panel felt the proposal lacked clarity around what the Project Manager would deliver, how the training would be targeted and how it would directly benefit Red Kite tenants or staff. However, there was an action to discuss a possible smaller grant, potentially £2,000 or under, and explore further support with RSASS.
The Age UK Buckinghamshire application was deferred pending further clarification on whether the request fits Springboard funding, the hardship fund or another route, and a final decision will be made by email once further information is received.
