Taking action to keep a neighbourhood safe

News
3 March 2026

On Wednesday 25th February, a neighbourhood became significantly safer thanks to the hard work and persistence of our Home Safety Team and their colleagues across Red Kite.

The team had been managing a very complex electrical safety case where severe hoarding made it impossible to reach the fuse board and other key electrical outlets. Although we had access to the home, the sheer amount of things being stored there meant that the electrical safety check could not be completed.

Our team worked closely with Wycombe Mind, local councillors and charities to put support in place for our tenant. We also provided skips and practical help to enable our tenant to reduce the hoarding to a level where essential checks could be completed.

The home is still a work in progress, but it has now been cleared enough to enable access to the fuse board and several of the electrical outlets. We’re pleased to have been able to test the electrics and confirm they are safe, significantly reducing the risk to our tenant and surrounding homes.
