We've continued to invest in local people and projects through our Springboard and Starting Blocks community funding, supporting activities that help communities come together and thrive.
Springboard provides larger grants to charities and community groups delivering more complex projects that play a vital role in supporting local communities, while Starting Blocks offers grants of up to £2,000 to support smaller projects or events that make a difference locally.
Recent funding has supported a wide range of community projects. These include Finding Your Feet by Micklefield Judo Club, which helps older people improve balance, confidence and independence, and Amazing Therapy’s Thrive project, which provided direct wellbeing support to Red Kite tenants.
Investment has also backed projects that build skills and connection within the community. This includes Social Link’s OpportuniTea Café in Holmer Green, which offers hospitality training and an inclusive space for people to connect, Wycombe Homeless Connection’s Prevent Homeless Project, providing legal and emotional support to people at risk of eviction, and Project Outreach at Kings Church High Wycombe, delivering English classes and community meals.
Alongside these larger initiatives, funding has helped residents and community groups deliver smaller, everyday activities that bring people together. Events at our sheltered schemes have helped neighbours connect and make better use of shared spaces, while a hedgehog talk in Marlow and spring bulb planting projects across several neighbourhoods have strengthened community connections, improved outdoor areas and supported local biodiversity.
Funding has also supported inclusion and practical help across the community. This includes providing equipment to make local news more accessible for visually impaired listeners and supporting festive initiatives such as Wycombe Santa, helping ensure vulnerable families received support at Christmas.
By investing in local people and ideas, Red Kite’s community funding is helping make a positive difference to people’s lives across its neighbourhoods.
