New contractors appointed to take care of our trees

We’ve recently appointed two new contractors to help us look after the trees in our communal and open spaces. Below is a simple Q&A to introduce our new contractors, explain what’s changing, and outline what this means for you.

Tree maintenance services

Who is the new contractor and what contract have they taken on?
Heartwood Tree Surgeons Ltd are our new Tree Maintenance Services contractor.

Who did they replace?
John O’Conner.

What will they be doing?
Heartwood will carry out maintenance work on trees in our communal and open spaces. This includes completing any work identified through our regular surveys to help keep these areas safe and healthy. They will also work closely with Dryad, our new consultancy provider.

When did the change come into effect?
1st February 2026.

How long is the contract for?
Up to five years.

Who does this affect?
Anyone living in areas where we manage communal or open spaces.

Are there any changes to the service?
No – you won’t see any differences in the service we provide.

Were tenants involved in the decision?
Yes, tenants from our Core Procurement Group took part in the evaluation. If you’d like to learn more about this or get involved, head over to our volunteering page.

Tree management consultancy services

Who is the new contractor and what contract are they taking on?
Dryad Tree Specialists are now our Tree Management Consultancy Services contractor.

Who did they replace?
Acorn Environmental.

What will they be doing?
Dryad will carry out tree inspections and professional assessments, letting us know when any work is needed. They will work with Heartwood to make sure trees are maintained safely throughout their lifespan.

When did the change come into effect?
1st March 2026.

How long is the contract for?
Up to five years.

Who does this affect?
Anyone living in areas where we manage communal or open spaces.

Are there any changes to the service?
No – you won’t see any differences in the service we provide.

Were tenants involved in the decision?
