On Wednesday 11th September we hosted a digital training day for our tenants at our office. The event aimed to give tenants the essential skills needed to confidently navigate the digital world.
The training covered a wide range of topics, including:
- Getting started: Basic computer skills, setting up wifi, creating email accounts, and going online
- Frauds and scams: Recognising and avoiding online scams, phishing emails, and fake news
- Video calling: Using platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WhatsApp, and Skype for virtual communication
- Red Kite services: Utilising the Red Kite website for reporting repairs, obtaining information, and contacting the team.
Led by Sanjay, our Digital Engagement Specialist, and David from Age UK, the event attracted seven tenants who had not previously engaged with our organisation. After enjoying the positive atmosphere and learning experience, one participant even expressed an interest in volunteering for us.
Sanjay commented on the success of the day, saying:
“It was a fantastic experience with such great and open-minded people. Delivering the session brought me a sense of joy knowing that I had supported our tenants in taking their first steps into the digital world. Everyone left with smiles on their faces and a desire for more, which was a great sign.”
The digital training day was a valuable initiative that empowered tenants to embrace technology and improve their quality of life.
