A dozen local charities and community organisations have benefitted from our Christmas giveaway - 12 Days of Kindness.

12 Days Of Kindness

Since Monday, 4th December, we've been running a competition on our Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram channels, offering a £100 voucher to groups working in the local community - all the groups had to do to win was add a comment explaining how they'd use the money. The names then went into a random draw, with the lucky winner announced later that day.

Aasia, Head of Resident and Community Engagement, said:

“We had entries from people across the district, including lots of groups we’ve not previously worked with or funded. This has given us a great opportunity to open up relationships with people who, like us, are working to realise the potential in our communities.

“We’re looking forward to working with all the groups who entered and do more with them in 2024. We plan to reach out to every organisation that has participated with details of our Springboard and Starting Blocks funding streams and other community activities that might benefit them.”

Some winners have stopped by the Red Kite office to pick up the prizes.

Joanna from the Meet and Mingle Cancer Support Group (day four winners) came into the offices to receive their voucher from our Chief Executive, Trevor Morrow. She then headed straight to Tesco and sent in photos of a trolley full of goodies which were distributed at their group’s Christmas lunch.

Day three winners, Charlotte and Sue from Flackwell Heath Community Pantry also called by to collect their prize, which they’ll be using to buy supplies to restock their shelves, ready for the busy festive period ahead.

We then had a visit from the Deputy Chair of Holmer Green Football Club, Samantha who proudly accepted their prize. Holmer Green Football Club was founded in 1908 and is an England Football Two Star Accredited Club and were so happy they were nominated.

Day five winners, SEND Holiday Club then came over just before the festive break to pick up their voucher. SEND Holiday Club was formed back in February 2022 by two parents whose children have special educational needs and felt there wasn’t enough happening in school holidays to keep them entertained. The cost is £3 per SEND child and the rest of the family get in for free.
