Cleaning for the Queen

News
15 March 2016

Staff from across Red Kite recently volunteered to work in the sunshine to assist in the efforts to clean up litter and fly-tipping from Spearing Service Road, Castlefield Woods and Desborough Castle. This community day was one of many events organised for the Clean for The Queen initiative – ahead of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.

We donned high-vis jackets, safety gloves and armed ourselves with grabbers to muck in with Chiltern Rangers, Wycombe District Council employees, local Police Community Support Officers and other volunteers to gather the litter.

A huge variety of rubbish was collected including (but not limited to) sofas, car parts, oil canisters and even a pair of odd shoes!

A total of five truckloads of rubbish were removed, significantly improving the appearance of the area.
