Recently, scheme champions at Woollerton Court met with Red Kite staff and contractors to talk about services at the scheme. The meeting was arranged after feedback shared at a coffee morning and gave tenants the chance to speak openly and directly with the people involved.
Scheme champions are tenants who work closely with us to share feedback, raise issues and help improve services at their scheme. This role was introduced following feedback from our coffee mornings, and we’re looking for more champions at other sheltered schemes. If you’re a sheltered tenant and would like to get involved, please speak to your Sheltered Specialist.
Amy and Catherine from our Commercial Team were joined by representatives from John O’Conner and Sasse, who look after grounds maintenance, cleaning and window cleaning. Meeting on site meant everyone could walk around together, look at specific issues and talk through them in person. Tenants also shared positive feedback and said they appreciated having the time and space to be listened to.
Following the meeting, a number of actions were agreed. These include sharing clearer information about services, looking at improvements on site and providing more detail about service charges where services differ. Tenants will also be involved in deciding what should happen to some planted areas that are no longer maintained.

“We all felt the meeting went very well and it finally left us feeling seen and heard. It was lovely to meet everyone face to face and have such open and positive communication. Woollerton Court is a very special place to live and our wish is simply to continue enjoying and taking pride in the place we call home.”
