A dozen local charities and community organisations have once again benefited from 12 Days of Kindness - our annual community giveaway in the run-up to the festive period.
Across 12 days this December, we invited groups working in the local area to take part in a social media competition on Facebook and Instagram. Each day, one organisation had the chance to win a £200 voucher simply by commenting on how they would use the funding to support their work. All eligible entries were placed into a random draw, with the winner revealed later the same day.
This is the third year that we have run the campaign, with this year’s competition attracting over 450 nominations in total, including for more than 60 groups who had not been put forward in previous years.
Sophie Field, our Head of Resident and Community Engagement, said:
“We’ve been delighted to see such a wide range of entries this year, including many organisations we haven’t previously connected with. It’s been a brilliant way to discover new groups who share our commitment to helping communities thrive.
“We’re excited to build on these new relationships throughout 2026. Every organisation that took part will hear from us about our Springboard and Starting Blocks funding opportunities, as well as other community initiatives that could support the fantastic work they’re already doing.”
Our 12 winners were:
- High Wycombe Sea Cadets
- Phoenix Lifestyle Foundation, who use physical activity as a tool for mental health recovery and addiction support
- The Baby Bank, who collect good-quality second-hand clothes, equipment and furniture for families in need across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire
- Hearts & Souls, a charity that supports cardiac rehabilitation services across Buckinghamshire
- Bucks Vision, who provide advice, support, equipment and social connection for people with sensory loss across Buckinghamshire
- Great Kingshill Combined School PTA

- Meet and Mingle Cancer Support Group, who provide support to all women in South Bucks with all types of cancer and at any stage of their cancer journey.
Some winners have already stopped by our offices to collect their prizes:
High Wycombe Sea Cadets were successful on Day 1, and Brian and June were very appreciative of their prize.
Sea Cadets aims to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment.
June, who is Chair, and Brian, who takes care of maintenance, first became involved back in 1978 when their son joined.
They were out and about over the festive period with Wycombe Santa collecting donations, something they do every year.
Hearts & Souls were delighted to win on Day 4 – Peter, who volunteers with the group, called in to collect their £200 voucher.
Hearts & Souls provide grants and funding to pay for rehabilitation classes so they are available to everyone who needs them, for staff education and training, and for the purchase and maintenance of medical and exercise equipment.
As well as our 12 Days Of Kindness campaign each Christmas, we have two community funding streams which are open to applications year-round:
- Starting Blocks offers grants of up to £2,000, with a focus on supporting a project or an event that makes a difference in the community
- Springboard provides larger grants to charities or groups that play a vital role in supporting our communities.
What could a grant from one of our funds make possible for your community?
