Following a comprehensive recruitment process Red Kite is pleased to announce that Peter Cogan has been appointed as our new Group Chief Executive.
Peter, who joins Red Kite from Watford Community Housing where he is currently Group Director of Operations, has a wealth of experience in housing and overseeing key customer-facing functions, including the repairs, housing, customer services, customer relations and community engagement teams.
Before joining Watford Community Housing, Peter was in an interim role as Director of Customer Operations at Optivo, having previously been Executive Director of Customer Service at RHP Group, as well as serving as a Group Board member for Newlon Housing Trust.

Peter’s appointment comes at a key moment for Red Kite, as we focus on:
- Improving the quality and safety of homes – investing in repairs, planned maintenance and building safety
- Putting residents’ voices at the heart of decision-making – strengthening engagement and feedback
- Supporting residents through the cost of living crisis – with targeted support, advice and community partnerships
- Delivering more affordable homes – to help tackle housing need.

Susan Hickey, Red Kite’s Interim Group Chief Executive, will remain in post until Peter joins in 2026.
