For the second year running our 12 Days of Kindness Christmas campaign has been a runaway success, attracting attention from lots of small local charities and community organisations eager to win £200 each day.
From Monday 2nd to Thursday 19th December we posted at 9am each weekday (excluding Fridays) on our Facebook and Instagram channels, offering a £200 shopping voucher to groups working in our communities - all people needed to do was add a comment under the post with the name of the organisation they were nominating, and explaining how the money would be used. The names then went into a daily draw, with the lucky winner being announced before 5pm the same day.
We had so many entries from people across the Wycombe district - a total of 636 nominations and an average of 27 groups nominated each day. This has given us a real opportunity to open up relationships with people who, like us, are working to realise the potential in our communities. We'll be maintaining this contact and doing more with them in 2025 - we plan to reach out to every organisation that was nominated with details of our Springboard and Starting Blocks funding streams and our other community activities.
Our 12 lucky winners were:
- Bledlow Village Cricket Club
- Movers and Shakers at The Vibe Church
- Follyfoot Healing with Horses
- Wrights Meadow Centre
- RiverLife Toddler and Community Group
- The Oasis Partnership
- Wycombe Homeless Connection
- Friends of Ash Hill
- One Can Trust
- Gods of War
- Bucks Girls Rugby Charity
We've been in touch with all of the winners, and we've already handed over prizes to some of them:
Paula from Wrights Meadow Centre came into the office to collect their £200 Amazon voucher. The centre has been busier than usual during this year’s build-up to Christmas, putting on Christmas lunches, coffee mornings and more. They plan to use the voucher to buy games and activities for their elderly guests to use over Christmas.
The centre will be open throughout the festive period, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, which can be a difficult and lonely time for some. If you know someone who’s going to be on their own this Christmas, why not let them know about Wrights Meadow Centre?
Our next two visitors were Lydia from The Oasis Partnership, who was hoping to use the voucher to provide a delicious New Year buffet for the community, and Susan from Wycombe Homeless Connection who told us the prize will be a great help for projects such as their night shelter, which is essential at this time of year.
And finally, Sophie from Follyfoot Healing with Horses came down to see us and collect their voucher - they're thinking some nice treats for the horses are in order!
We're really looking forward to sharing more details of our winners in the new year, once they've all collected their vouchers. Thanks to everyone who participated, congratulations to the winners, and we're already looking forward to next year's 12 Days Of Kindness!
