Today the National Housing Federation issued a press statement highlighting the vital role that housing providers have in supporting our local communities through this national crisis.

As a housing provider of 6,500 homes in the Wycombe district, we have a key role to play in keeping our residents safe and supported in their homes, as well as helping the effort in the wider community.

Our primary focus during the crisis has been the welfare of both our residents and our staff. We mobilised our Emergency Response Team three weeks ago, and since then we have been working flat out to make sure that we are as prepared as possible to cope with necessary restrictions put in place by the government and Public Health England.

We have already written to our residents to provide advice about how we will support those who may be experiencing financial hardship. We are also taking proactive steps to help keep residents safe in their homes, including how we maintain them in line with Government guidance and observing the restrictions around self-isolating and shielding that will affect many tenants in the coming weeks. It is important for us that we support people who are most vulnerable during this crisis and help those who are in most need. We are working with a number of partners to help deliver this.
