We've put together an infographic which shows some of the ways we've been working together with OpenDoors to improve our communities and support the people who live in our homes:

Here is the text from the infographic:

OpenDoors are a social enterprise, set up to help residents take steps to increase their household income, access opportunities and significantly improve their lives in a variety of ways.

We recently partnered up with them to provide our communities with digital training, tips on healthy eating, food parcels and other opportunities.

Here are a few of the great things we've been able to achieve together!

Digital Champions

OpenDoors provided training to a group of our community volunteers, teaching them a wide range of digital skills.

They were shown how to provide digital training, in order to share the skills they had gained with other residents.

All of our Digital Champions received a City and Guilds qualification.
They were presented with their qualifications by our Director of Operations, Alan Keers.
They also received a Hudl, as thanks for their hard work!

Digital training

At various coffee mornings, our digital champions were able to provide their training in a relaxed, friendly environment to other members of the community.
We also now have wi-fi installed in all our schemes - making it easier to get online!

Our digital champions trained residents in:

  • Getting online
  • Using email
  • Online safety
  • Online banking
  • Shopping online

Food parcels and healthy eating

The summer holidays can be a tough time for the family food budget. We teamed up with OpenDoors to help some of our tenants who would be hardest hit over the summer holidays and provided them with food parcels.

OpenDoors went to Wycombe Market with some of our residents to show them just how much money they could save by shopping locally.

They were amazed at how much could be bought for £20!

In just 6 weeks, OpenDoors were able to provide food parcels to over 100 of our residents!
