Once you've registered with Bucks Home Choice you can search, apply, and bid for homes in your chosen area; these will then be offered to those with the highest priority.
Finding the right place for you:
- Search for homes regularly, as new homes are listed every week.
- When you find a home that’s right for you, bid on it. You can bid on more than one home at a time.
- All bids will be reviewed and shortlisted by Bucks Home Choice. They are then ranked from highest to lowest priority. The highest priority will be offered the home first.
- If you’re successful, and if everything’s in order, you can view the home. If you decide that the home isn’t right for you, no problem. We’ll offer it to the next person on the shortlist.
Affordable rent is a rent level lower than market rent, usually up to 80% and includes service charge costs where these apply. Affordable rent homes are also available for households who are eligible for social rented housing.
Social rent levels are calculated in line with Government rent-setting policy and are typically discounted to approximately 50% to 60% of market rents. Social rent homes are allocated to people through the housing waiting list, which in our case is managed by Buckinghamshire Council, once they've bid on a property through the local lettings system, in our case Bucks Home Choice, based on housing need priority.
