Are you unsure about which bin to use, when your bins are collected, or where to take your waste? Visit Buckinghamshire Council's website. You can even search for an item and they'll tell you how to recycle, compost or dispose of it - easy!
Recycling is important because it helps conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and save energy. When we recycle, we reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill, where it can take hundreds of years to decompose and can release harmful greenhouse gases. By recycling, we can reduce our carbon footprint and help to protect the environment for future generations.
We encourage all our tenants to make use of the council's recycling services and to do their part in reducing waste.
Together, we can make a difference and create a more sustainable future.
Fly-tipping
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste, whether it's a single bag or a vehicle-load of rubbish. We work with the local authority to ensure that wherever possible offenders are prosecuted. Fly-tipping is punishable by an unlimited fine or imprisonment.
If you see any waste dumped on Red Kite-owned land please tell us as soon as possible using this form. All information is useful so tell us as much as you can, including the number plate of any vehicle being used.
If we discover that you are responsible for fly-tipping on our land, we will recharge you the full cost of removal and disposal and we may take legal action against you, which if you are one of our tenants could lead to you losing your home.
If the fly-tipping is on land belonging to the local authority or a private owner, please use FixMyStreet to report the problem. If you are not sure who the landowner is, use this form, and we will find out.
Bulky item collection
Did you know that you can arrange for the council to come and collect your unwanted bulky items? They can collect all sorts from carpets and mattresses to beds, furniture, domestic fridges and freezers. They even offer a discount if you're in receipt of income-related benefits. Take a look at the Buckinghamshire Council website for more information.
