What is anti-social behaviour?
A legal definition of anti-social behaviour is found in The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 which describes ASB as:
“Acting in a manner that caused or was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household as themselves”.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 expanded on this as follows:
“Conduct that has caused, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person;
Conduct capable of causing nuisance or annoyance to a person in relation to that person’s occupation of residential premises; or
Conduct capable of causing housing-related nuisance or annoyance to any person.”
