Poundfield

Site address: Poundfield estate, Maidenhead SL6
Original use: Four garage sites.
Proposed use: Four 3-bed houses; refurbished garages; improved parking area
Latest: Planning permission granted.

Exciting changes are coming to these garage sites, many of which have fallen into disrepair after being neglected for some years.:

  • Abingdon Walk – These garages will get a full refurbishment, and we'll also be adding some additional parking spaces.
  • Shifford Crescent and Mapledurham Walk – On both these sites we'll be building four new 3-bedroom homes, along with new parking spaces and fresh landscaping.
  • Radcot Close – We’ll remove the old garages in order to add further much-needed parking spaces and carry out landscaping work.

Want to see the plans? Check out the links below on the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead planning portal:

Before commencing work, we need to carry out detailed investigations across all four garage sites. This means we need all existing garages to be empty so we can safely access and assess the area. People who currently hold a tenancy on one of the existing garages will therefore shortly be receiving a letter giving four weeks’ notice to vacate their garage(s).

Once the garages have been vacated we will need to fence the sites off to secure them and enable us to proceed with the necessary works.

While we understand this may be inconvenient, this work is essential to help us make the best use of the space for the benefit of the wider community. We’re committed to keeping disruption to a minimum and to keeping the wider community informed every step of the way.

We know there has been uncertainty around these sites for a long time, and we hope that by moving forward with this work, we can bring clarity and direction for everyone.
