Damp, mould and condensation update
We’ve made some changes behind the scenes so that we can respond more quickly when tenants report problems with damp, mould and condensation (DMC) in their homes. This means we can more quickly decide what needs to be done to resolve the problem and instruct our contractors to take the relevant action.
A few months after we’ve carried out any remedial works to our tenants’ homes we contact them to check that the problem hasn’t come back again. Because we’re doing more inspections and more works, we’re expecting the number of post-works checks to increase too.
Upcoming legislation will increase the importance of how we classify the severity of DMC cases. We’re taking expert legal advice to make doubly sure we’ll be compliant with the new legislation.
