Santa driving a Land Rover with a Christmas tree in along a street

We're delighted to report that this year's Christmas tree recycling collection, which we supported, was a huge success, with over 20 volunteers collecting more than 550 trees and raising close to £11,000 for two local charities, Child Bereavement UK and Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.

Ruth Sanger, Community Fundraising Manager for Child Bereavement UK, said:

"This is an incredible amount and we are absolutely thrilled. Last year we collected around 135 trees and raised around £2,500, so this is a huge increase - and we even got a mention from JustHelping (the umbrella organisation who organise collections across the UK) because we'd done so well.

"Red Kite's support with this event has certainly contributed to its success so thank you very much!"

High Wycombe-based charity Child Bereavement UK helps children and young people, parents and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care provides specialist palliative care for adults and children through their 24-hour hospice at home service, day services and family support.
