A huge thank you was said to all our volunteers this week when we held our annual Red Kite Volunteer Thank You party.

The event gives us a chance to say a personal thank you to each of our fantastic volunteers for all of the hard work they do for us. This year's gathering, held at Hazlemere Golf Club on Thursday 17th November, was proudly sponsored by ROCK, who we were glad to have join in with the fun.

Our tenant volunteers are an essential part of the business here at Red Kite and are involved in everything we do. They help us improve services, make important decisions and positively impact the community. So many of our volunteers have become experts in the field they help in and are filled with passion and pride when they speak about the work they have done.

We gave out some special long service awards to those volunteers who have been with us throughout much of our journey, such as Jenny Ryan, who started volunteering with us in 2012.

It was the first in person Thank You celebration since before the pandemic, and we were back with a bang! The day was filled with laughter, music and some delicious cakes.

Hazel Chandler, one of our volunteers said, “I want to thank everyone for looking after me so well today. I had a very enjoyable afternoon. The whole thing was really lovely and just right, I was delighted to get an award.”

As well as giving us the opportunity to show our appreciation for our tenants, the day also allowed us all to connect with new people and others we may have lost touch with over the last few difficult years.

Volunteer Valerie Rutter commented, “Thank you for inviting me to the event, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to Sanjay, Joanne and all the Red Kite staff too. I met some interesting people there, some I shall be in regular touch with.”
