They can also arrange a visit to your home or an appointment at our offices (whatever is more convenient to you) so that you can talk to someone face to face about your finances.

If you’d like to talk to our Financial Wellbeing Team call us on 01494 476100 or send them an email.

We’ve also put together some useful information for you about recent changes that may have affected your finances, which you can find below.

Welfare reform

The effects of welfare reform have been in the national news for some time now - the changes will affect millions of people across the country over the next few years so it's important to find out if you are one of them. We know you might be worried about what this could mean for you and your family and there is a lot of information to cover, so we've put together a handy booklet full of information about the changes: Welfare reform newsletter.

We also have a page dedicated to the various Welfare Reform changes - you can find it here.

Bedroom Tax

The bedroom tax means a cut to the amount of benefit you get if you have a spare bedroom in your home. This tax affects tenants of working age (16 – 61 and 5 months). At the moment, bedroom tax directly affects around 400 of our tenants - we have written to you directly if this applies to you and there is more information here.

Universal Credit

The Government is introducing Universal Credit to help make the benefits system simpler. It will provide a single payment for people looking for work, those unable to work because of illness or disability, or on a low income. Single people making new claims now get 'Universal Credit' instead of Job Seeker's Allowance. Universal Credit will also replace six other working age benefits.
