As part of the promises we made at transfer, we said we would regenerate the Castlefield Star Blocks, which includes all 72 flats located in Chairborough Road and Pettifer Way, as well as the 25 homes in Longland Way. We have already held workshops with tenants and leaseholders, met with all residents individually to talk to them about their needs, set up our Regeneration Panel made up of tenants and leaseholders to help us make decisions and made great progress with the project.

With approval from our Board and in consultation with our Regeneration Panel, we are now moving ahead with the next step of our flagship regeneration scheme to build high quality new homes in the Castlefield area. Our architect is currently designing a scheme that will see approximately 180 homes built over the two sites, providing appropriate parking spaces for residents and visitors. The homes will mainly be a mix of one and two bedroom apartments. We are pleased to be able to offer a range of tenure options, as well as some homes for outright sale. This mix will help to regenerate the area and provide affordable options for those people who have aspirations to own their own homes.

We currently hope to start work constructing new homes on this site during the autumn of 2018.

As we have done throughout this project, we continue to fully involve our customers, stakeholders and specifically our Regeneration Panel who have helped us to make many of the decisions involved in this exciting and much anticipated scheme.
