Rubbish and fly-tipping
It's very sad and such a nuisance to see that fly-tipping is affecting our community. Unfortunately, tenants are suffering due to the inconsiderate actions of others.
We do take this very seriously. We always try to clear areas within 24 hours of a report, but some more serious issues may take up to five working days.
In the last six months we spent £20,666 on clearing up 400 cases of fly-tipping and over £155,652 on litter picking. This is money that could have been used to re-fit 45 bathrooms or 39 kitchens!
We're currently planning a new approach for how we tackle fly-tipping, where we’ll be encouraging tenants to share information and photos with us to help us tackle problem areas more effectively. Watch this space. You can report fly-tipping easily online via Fix my Street. You can also contact us directly if the fly-tipping is on Red Kite land.
Fly-tipping is illegal and we'll work with the Council to ensure that offenders are prosecuted.
Unwanted bulky items?
Did you know that you can arrange with the Council to come and collect your unwanted bulky items? They can collect all sorts from carpets, beds, mattresses, furniture and domestic fridges and freezers. They even offer a discount if you're in receipt of income-related benefits. Take a look at the Buckinghamshire Council website for more information.
Want to know which bin to put something in or where to take it?
On the Buckinghamshire Council website, you can search for an item and they'll tell you how to recycle, compost or dispose of it! Visit the waste wizard.
Thinking of taking your rubbish to a household recycling centre?
Before you go, take a look at the web cam to see how busy it is. If you're wondering how it works, what you can take, or whether or not you'll be charged, take a look online.
