Tackling and preventing domestic abuse
Wycombe Women’s Aid is seeking funding to enable four workers to undertake the specialist, nationally recognised qualification Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse. The funding would cover both the cost of the qualification itself and travel expenses for all workers.
This qualification, endorsed by the Home Office, is for those who work with survivors of domestic violence and encompasses understanding domestic violence within a social and historical context, understanding child protection in the context of domestic violence, the role of the domestic violence practitioner, and domestic violence partnerships and co-ordinated community responses.
'This will make things better in our local community by ensuring that women who have experienced domestic violence have access to the highest levels of specialist support provided by trained and qualified practitioners.'
