About the Princes Centre
The Princes Centre provides day care facilities to the vulnerable and elderly and those living with dementia and memory issues. It also provides day care to adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.
It's a registered charity and a social enterprise which has been running for the past seven and a half years and relies on community support and partnerships. It is the only charitable day care centre in Bucks that supports its local community and doesn’t receive any government funding. Trustees are all volunteers and the charity raises a lot of funds itself.
They explain, 'we make a huge difference to people’s lives who without us would have no stimulation, reason to get up, or road to recovery or just a better life in general. Our motto has always been to ensure people leave with a smile on their faces and they have a good day in a warm, caring and stimulating environment'.
The pottery provides an essential opportunity to many people. People with mental health needs, stroke patients and people with anxiety and mobility problems can benefit from the opportunity to work with clay. It improves people’s concentration, dexterity, relaxation, understanding and generally benefits people all round.
'We would love to be able to continue to offer this service and opportunity to our clients'
