Closure order enforced following ASB at flat
5 November 2020
Over the last few months we have been working in partnership with Thames Valley Police following reports of drug related anti-social behaviour (ASB) at a flat within Gibbs House sheltered scheme in High Wycombe.
On Wednesday 4th November a Closure Order was obtained at High Wycombe Magistrates Court that has now been enforced at the home. This means the property is now ‘closed’ and boarded up for the next three months, offering respite for the elderly residents whilst our ASB team continue with legal action against the tenant.
The tenant was removed from the property, as well as two further individuals who are well known to the police. All have been referred to local support services.
Janine Healy, Senior Anti-Social Behaviour Specialist, said: “We’re relying more on Closure Orders than ever before to offer respite to our communities and victims of ASB due to the delays to possession proceedings caused by COVID-19.
“Our strong partnership and data-sharing protocol with Thames Valley Police ensures we can work swiftly and effectively together to obtain the required evidence to present to the court.”
