With the cold weather set to return this weekend, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind people how important it is to take the right action, so we have found some useful videos to help you maintain your home.

If you do have a leak, these three simple steps will help to prevent it becoming a major one:
Turn off the water supply at the stopcock
Open all taps to reduce flooding, turn them off again when all the water has drained from the pipework
Soak up/block off escaping water with thick towels
And lastly, we would encourage all customers to make sure they have home contents insurance in place. While these situations are quite rare, when they do occur, the damage can be great, so the small monthly payments really are worth it. We have negotiated a low cost home contents insurance policy for our customers - see the information here which shows you how much you can pay monthly and what this covers. We also recommend you try online insurance comparison sites to find the best available deals.
