Neighbourhood Awards 2018

Our Neighbourhood Awards 2018 are now open for entry!

With seven categories to choose from, the winners will share £1,000 worth of garden vouchers!

We want to recognise the members of our community who are helping to improve their neighbourhoods, and the lives of the people who live in them, through their amazing gardens, approach to helping each other out and volunteering for Red Kite. Our annual Neighbourhood Awards, now in their fourth year, recognise the people who really make a difference.

The competition includes awards for the best gardens, to recognise those who go the extra mile to make their gardens stand out and improve their local area, as well as our ever popular junior garden competition that schools across the district can enter.

With 7 categories, you can nominate yourself or your neighbours and be in with a chance of winning a share of of garden vouchers. Nominate now for the following:

  • Best communal garden (sheltered housing)
  • Best junior garden
  • Best small garden / balcony
  • Best vegetable / eco garden
  • Best kept garden
  • Good neighbour award
  • Amazing Red Kite volunteer award

All you have to do is complete an application form and send it back to us with 3-5 good quality photos of your garden.

You can send in your photos by emailing us, posting them to us or uploading them on Facebook here (you will need to send a request to join the public group): ‘Red Kite Neighbourhood Awards 2018’.

The deadline is Friday 29th June, after which time our expert panel of judges (two keen gardeners from Red Kite and one volunteer) will get together to shortlist the entries based on the application forms, stories and photos that have been provided.

The judges will choose the top 5 gardens from each category to go out and visit between the 1st-14th of July, so please keep this in mind if you are entering the competition.

Finalists for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will win a share of the garden vouchers and also be invited to celebrate at our Neighbourhood Awards 2018 celebration later in the year.
