A great record for gas compliance

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve achieved and are maintaining 100% gas compliance across all our homes!

But what does that actually mean? We’re required to carry out checks on all our homes to make sure that all the gas appliances and internal gas pipes are safe. Gas compliance percentage is then made up of the percentage of your homes that comply with the gas safety regulations, following these checks. Having 100% compliance means that now every single one of our homes complies with these gas safety regulations!

More than 50 people a year die from Carbon Monoxide poisoning, carrying out these inspections makes every single person who lives in our homes safer.

Not only is this figure great news in terms of making sure everyone in our homes is safe, but it also means that we don’t spend resources on chasing up people who don’t give us access. Historically, it’s been difficult for Housing Associations and their contractors to gain access to homes to carry out these checks. The money we save here can then be invested in making our other services even better.

Going forward, we want to do everything we can to make sure we maintain 100% gas compliance – which is why it’s so important that if you live in one of our homes, you give us access to carry out these inspections. We’ll always try to arrange an appointment to carry out an inspection at a time that suits you.

We’ve been working closely with our contractor K&T Heating to make this a possibility. But a bigger thank you is needed for everyone who lives in our homes for giving us access!
