We're looking for volunteers!

17 February 2016

We currently have two interesting volunteering opportunities open, as either Resident Inspectors and Estate Inspectors. We've put together a brief description of the different roles below. If you would like to find out more please contact our Engagement and Volunteering team on either 01494 476221 or at

Estate inspector

The quality of your home and surrounding community are not only really important to you and your neighbours who live there – they are also important to us. That’s why we carry out regular inspections to make sure we are doing all that we can to keep them in good order.  We need your help to do this.

As an ‘Estate Inspector’, you’ll be invited to join us when we carry out an inspection to check your local area. Your knowledge is extremely valuable to us, and it’s a great chance for a ‘fresh pair of eyes’ to help us check out the local community and spot hidden issues or something we may have missed! Find out more about the role here. Resident Inspector Role Description

We are looking for people who care about where they live who can bring a new perspective, along with valuable local knowledge to help ensure we spot any issues and quickly deal with them where we can. Issues could range from; untidy gardens, overgrown trees, fly tipping, graffiti, rubbish, grass cutting, pathways and much more. Have you got a spare hour or so to help make a difference? If so give us a call on 01494 476221 or complete and return this form: Estate Inspector volunteer form.

Resident Inspector

As someone who lives in one of our homes, you have the best view of what is important to you and your communities. We need volunteers who can work with our internal auditors to look in detail at what we are doing in key frontline areas of our service so that we get a good understanding of what we are doing well and what we need to change from a customer perspective. You’ll help to review how our main services are delivered in practice and make recommendations for improvement where necessary. Training will be given to give you the skills and knowledge to be effective in the role and to help us make sure that services are delivered to a high standard. If you would like to apply, just give us a call on 01494 476221 or complete and return this form: Resident Inspector volunteer form.
