Resident Representative Team

A welcome from Roni

Roni McGowen'Hi, I'm Roni, and I'm the Chair of your Resident Representative Team (RRT). We're a group of residents that work together as a key partnership group with Red Kite.

We're consulted on key service changes, help shape decisions, and share our recommendations for consideration with the Red Kite Board. We're all committed to ensuring that we continue to receive great services and that residents remain at the heart of Red Kite.

I’ve lived in Wooburn Green as a tenant of Red Kite for more than 20 years. Having worked with Red Kite for over four years, I've experienced first hand the great work that Red Kite does in the community, and how important volunteers are within the organisation.

As Chair of RRT, I make sure that the views of residents are heard by Red Kite, so that we can truly help shape what the organisation does. Being part of a community organisation, who have their tenants at the heart at what they do is a great feeling. Most recently, I’ve seen how Red Kite has ensured that residents are supported and protected during the COVID-19 crisis, whilst also delivering the key services that are so important to us.

I would encourage anyone who wants to make a positive difference to get involved.

What we do

How we represent you

We represent your voice by being:

  • proactive
  • influential
  • insightful
  • challenging.

Consultative group

We hold regular RRT meetings with Red Kite so that we're consulted on key activity such as strategies and policy changes. We invite members of staff to present to us on key topics too.

Our meetings are recorded and minutes are taken.

Scrutiny body

We proactively make things happen. When we review performance, we identify areas we want to look at in more detail. We'll ask staff to present to us key information, and work with them to identify any improvements we'd like to see, and hold teams to account to make sure these are delivered.

Connecting to Board

We're a key part of discussions and decisions that impact you. As well as receiving information that the Board receives, members of RRT sit on all the sub committees of Board, as well as attending Board on a rotating basis - we're at the heart of all the decision making.
