Sheltered schemes moving advice

We have minimised access to our sheltered schemes since March 2020 and have only begun to let sheltered homes since the start of June. This is because some of our customers are shielding. We continue to have enhanced hygiene controls in place for the safety of our customers. If you are moving into a sheltered scheme please be understanding of the enhanced controls in place and play your part in keeping communal areas clean and safe. Everybody entering the building must use the hand sanitisers provided.

Many of the communal facilities at our sheltered schemes remain closed. During the moving in process please only travel between the communal entrance door and your new home. We know that this is an exciting time for you but please don’t give family members and friends a tour of the communal facilities. There will be plenty of time for you to share your exciting new home and its facilities in the months to come.

When you are moving in or out of a sheltered scheme, please do not place any items in the communal areas. Members of our team will be in touch shortly after you move in to explain a bit more about the scheme and our approach to keeping it COVID-19 Secure.

We’re afraid that children under the age of 16 are not allowed to be present during the move.

Removing belongings following a bereavement

If you are removing the belongings from a home in a sheltered scheme following a bereavement, please contact us on 01494 476100 to make arrangements.  We will be allocating an appointment day based on the cleaning schedule of the sheltered scheme as part of our enhanced hygiene controls.

All removals will need to be completed on the day that has been allocated. If this is not possible then more than one appointment date will be needed.

All possessions must be removed, however, if this is not possible then we may agree to remove them for you if a disclaimer is signed and our costs of removal are paid in advance.
